Venue changed to Lake Mead Marina at Horseshoe cove.  It is the marina to the South.  Assembly at the courtesy docks 9-10 October.  Best launch ramp is Boulder Ramp (site of the old location of Lake Mead Marina).  Recently dredged and a marked channel to deep water pass Prymide Island.  Lanch here and motor to Lake Mead Marina.  Recommend keeping tow vehicle and trailer at the Lake Mead Marina parking lot, as Boulder Ramp site is isolated without marina traffic, 8).

I only plan to be with the group while in Boulder Basin (9-10 October).  Overnight fee at Lake Mead Marina courtesy dock is $20 usually assessed at 2300 hours (11 PM).  Sheltered cove to the North of the "Batch Plant" tank with a sandy beach and Southern protection from the prodominate SouthWest wind.

Passing of Dick "Sailmeister" Nielson

Just received word from his widow of the passing of my sailmate, good friend, First Commodore of Las Vegas Bay Macgregor Association, Dick "Sailmeister" Nielson.  Dick and I formed the LVBMA in 1997 to be an alternative to the existing sailboat clubs on Lake Mead.  I will miss my sailmate and the wonderful world solutions we agreed upon as we sailed Lake Mead together.
